Dear Friends of Educación:
On behalf of the children of Alamos and the Board of Directors of Amigos de Educación de Alamos, I am inviting you to join us as a member for the year 2004-2005.
The association is currently supporting approximately 200 children as they strive to become more responsible adults.
There were many interesting and heartfelt testimonials given by students at this year's annual meeting. We are experiencing even more requests for assistance. Although membership is only $5.00 (or peso equivalent) per year, we encourage you to also donate additional support to this truly basic program. In an effort to provide another alternative, the Board has also established a Trust/Endowment account for those who wish to make contributions of more than $1000.00 (or peso equivalent) and have such moneys set aside for long term investment support. As you know almost 100% of all donations are used for scholarships. The hours of volunteer time given are staggering.
The President of Mexico has established education as a highest priority as have the current and immediate past Presidents of the United States, Your membership this year is especially timely and needed. Please make checks payable to Amigos de Educación de Alamos and give them to me or to any member of the Board, or send it to Apdo. Postal 123, Alamos, Sonora, Mexico 85763. The IRS recognizes such payments as contributions in the U.S.
